Villa Edera is in Moneglia, half way between Portofino and the Cinque Terre, protected from behind, by typical Ligurian hills with woods full of fragrant Mediterranean scrub and olive trees, while being only 150 metres from the sea.
You do not need a car to move around. On leaving Villa Edera, you can quickly reach the most beautiful places along the Ligurian Riviera such as Camogli, the picturesque fishing village with very high houses covered in "Trompe l'oeil" frescoes, the quiet bay of St. Fruttuoso, with its crystal clear sea and Cristo degli Abissi, Rapallo, the pearl of the Tigullio Gulf, Santa Margherita Ligure, elegant and private, Portofino, famous drawing room of the rich, Chiavari, the ancient Key to the Valleys, Sestri Levante, with it's breathtaking sunsets, and Lerici and Portovenere, small, well known harbours in the Gulf of La Spezia, which will enchant poets and artists.
A train or boat trip to the villages which make up the Cinque Terre, Unesco Heritage since 1997, is also a must: Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore, can be reached in about 30 minutes from the hotel. These romantic villages, built as though they had taken root on the rockside, dropping straight into the sea, are protected by pretty inlets and surrounded by rugged rocks and cultivated vineyards and olive groves.
